Now here it comes round once again
A sharp twist with a bitter end
Why is this such a cruel game?
I wish things would just stay the same.
Life is such an unpredictable ride
I remember all the nights I've cried
Eyes glazed over, brain turned to mould.
So I now look to the one who for me died
Pause and think, of all the nights he must've cried
I gaze upon his loving face, the side that's pierced for me
Compassion and pity in his eyes, when the world I won't flee
Jesus, I come quickly now, softly like a dove
Knowing nought can separate me from your precious love
I look upon his hands and feet knowing I can be sure.
One day I'll rest eternally on that unchanging shore
If I will just look to him past all the tidal waves
Safe in his hands I'll be; he won't lose any he's saved.
