Because I am tired, and there are people with loud music, I cannot sleep. So I get to blather at you all, and you have no choice but to read this or scroll right through or whatever it is you people do.
You LJ-checking people, that is. I have come to accept the fact that I will not read LJ regularly, or at all really, so you should know and understand this. So if you're like "Oh noes my hamster just died" in your lj and then the next day I'm all like "hey so-&-so, how's the hamster?" and then you run away in a fit of tears, just understand that I am not responsible for that prior knowledge.
Anyway. Here's some stuff:
Psychology sucks, because there's so much to read.
Psychology is awesome, because I read this: "Because we apprehend reality through such limited (hence, flawed) channels, we are forced to conclude that everything we know is wrong."
Linguistics sucks, because languages are such complicated things.
Linguistics is awesome, because trying to understand all the stupid complicated things in Hua makes me all giddy just as much as it makes me want to stab the language in the face.
Japanese sucks, because it's all hard.
Japanese is awesome, because I totally had a semi-coherent short conversation with my teacher the other day, and it was a very gratifying feeling.
Oh, in other news, I bought a shiny new DS lite, but the only "game" I have for it is a Japanese dictionary. In Japanese. Imported from Japan. via eBay. And it's not even here yet. : (
Oh, and I bought some flax seeds today to make my own sleep mask thingy, cuz they also feel really good on the sinuses. But I didn't buy any ordinary flax. I go to Mac, see, so there are certain expectations, right, and Whole Foods also just happens to be the closest store. So I totally bought golden Organic flax seeds. This probably doesn't help my protests about how I'm not really a hippie.
But at the end of the day, my bed is still ridiculously uncomfortable, and it's nice to know some things will always be the same. Like dorm furniture. So now I leave you all with
my philosophy on life.
