C'est Mardi Gras!!!

I got into the Mardi Gras spirit this year. I think it all started when I had a piece of King Cake that my RA's mom sent her (she's from New Orleans). Now, I'm wearing beads, a purple ensemble, and I'm even makin' some king cake. I couldn't find the recipe I was looking for online, though, so we're mixing and matching recipes. Let's hope it turns out okay. If it behaves anything like my hairdying karma, then the cake will turn out absolutely nothing like it's supposed to, but it'll still be good. Here's to hoping! *fingers crossed*
It won't be entirely authentic, though: there's a bit of a shortage of small, plastic naked babies in Minnesota. Go figure, eh?
