"Please do not turn me into a hero. I do not feel like a hero. In fifty years I have never forgotten, not even for a single day, that I am a survivor. As a survivor I do not need to be thanked, but I thank all of you." - Simon Wiesenthal

That sounds like a fantastic film. I am not sure if I'd be able to watch it, though...I have never been able to watch Schindler's List and I don't think I will ever go to the Holocaust Museum until I have kids who are old enough to understand and who need to know. This may sound horrible, but I'm Jewish, so it's not like I'll "forget"...

OOOH, Ballerina is on my queue!

That doesn't sound horrible at all. Everyone has their own comfort level, and if you get to it, you'll get to it, and if you don't, it's okay too.

Personally, I think it's *because* I'm not Jewish and don't have any particular ties to the various groups of people being persecuted at that time in history that I'm more able to step back and enjoy learning about that era. Well, not "enjoy" per se, but WWII and the Holocaust are subjects that caught my interest at an early age and that I've always been open to learning about (ever since we read Number the Stars and The Diary of Anne Frank back in grade school).

Ballerina was pretty good! I like how Netflix will sometimes have awesome random stuff available for Instant Viewing. Oftentimes it's rubbish, but once in a while you discover something worthwhile. But then of course, they never have Instant Viewing of the things you really want to watch (like Supernatural or The Wire, etc., in my case. Ugh, I guess I'll start those shows one day, eventually, or something)
