Contrary to popular opinion, I still watch this show.
In Plain Sight - 2x13 - "Let's Get It Ahn" (AKA the episode where Marshall's heart gets ripped out and stomped on)
If you've heard me talk about this show at all, you know I'm a huge Mary/Marshall fan - or more specifically a Marshall fan :P Anyway, I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for some good Mary/Marshall this season and finally this episode delivered, albeit in a slightly heartbreaking kind of way.
First, I kind of forget in this show who knows what when. So in the last episode when Mary told Raph that she was in the Marshal Service, I was like, "Oh, he didn't know that already? What the heck does he think you do for a living?" (Oh wait, I just read that she specifically told him she was working in WITSEC which is something he wouldn't have known.) So then in this episode, I didn't realize that Marshall didn't already know about Mary and Raph's engagement (though I had been curious for a couple of episodes why this wasn't brought up - lol, dumb me), so the look on his face when he found out and then when he hugged her in congratulations, omg that slaaaaaayed me. And then later in the episode when he made that toast, and snuck in that "I love you" and SHE TOTALLY KNEW WHAT HE MEANT and he knew that she knew, and then he was all quiet and heartbroken at his desk and she's like looking at him, I pretty much died.
THE ANGST, IT IS GOOD.
I mean, in my mind I have no idea if the show will ever go that direction, but having Marshall quietly pine over Mary pushes so many of my buttons in a good way. And she knows! So now we just have to see how she deals with it.
As for Raph, as much as I've actually grown to like him this season (after he started out as a nonentity - way to not use an actor, show :P), it's obvious that he and Mary are just not suited for one another. I mean, seriously. Actually, she's mostly a dick to him a lot of the time, which makes me feel bad for him. He needs to find a woman who actually appreciates him. Whether that woman is Brandi, I don't know (they're cute, but that would be icky, and plus I actually like Peter). I get the feeling he's going away by the end of the season, and hopefully it's not because he gets killed :\
In conclusion, Eleanor is awesome on so many levels. There needs to be a clip reel of all the hilarious banter between her and Mary and occasionally Marshall. I can't believe I used to not like her character. What was I smoking?
