Tangy Taffy is the stuff of Heaven

So Hanukkah is in a few days!! Starts so early this year... but still, 2008 isn't so far away.

And 2007 has been quite a busy year for me and mine. With my sister's wedding in March, I got a brother. I've never had a brother, but I imagine it would have been interesting growing up with one.

At the end of April, I myself was married to
sylvanelf1, a man who has made me more happy than I ever could have hoped for myself.

August brought loss, when my Great Aunt Ann passes away into the next world. She was a very strong and spirited woman, who's sense of humor and love for her family never wavered, even at the end.

Shortly thereafter Fate, and her dear friend Inevitability felt it was time for me to move on, and to sever certain connections in my life that were holding me back emotionally. Though this pursuit was not without obstacle, and I was met with many tests of pride and loyalty. But regardless of how favor finds me, perhaps civility remains in the chapters of my life I chose to end. And this new chapter has brought back faces from earlier on, that I have pained to see again for a long time.

In October I was blessed with a gorgeous and healthy baby nephew, Alex. Though this joyous addition to my family did not come without a loss, my sister moved to Florida to live with our parents while her husband leaves to begin his deployment to Iraq. But before the end of the year we will get to see them all again for the Holidays in Illinois.

Now it's December, time for Hanukkah and Yule and Christmas. Time for family and friends. We'll be spending an afternoon with Elfie's family for Hanukkah and much to our delight, we will be able to spend it with a child we love very much and had feared circumstances may had cost us. But this bring us back to the light in the darkness of dissolution. Then to Illinois for Christmas with my sister's family & her in-laws. Stopping in Ohio to see my biological paternal Grandmother, whom I've only met twice.

So to everyone I wish Happy Holidays, whatever holidays you celebrate. Cherish the time you have with family and friends. And have a great New Year if I don't see you ;)
