Update from Dingle, Ireland. We have travelled from Dublin to Cork to Dingle. The town is quite small but our hostel is definatly not. It's a 300 year old manor house turned into a hostel which is haunted by the dead wife of the Earl of something or other. The hostel is about 20 minute walk to the town, which is killer with a (heavy) backpack. As it is Saturday and, here in Dingle, everything, including necessary launderette's, are closed. We have just decided to take a less than luxurious 6 hour bus ride to Galway. Good god.
Backtract to Cork. WE were there from tuesday night to thursday morning and stayed in a hostel with a room full of Italians. The room was tiny and they had been inhabiting this room for quite some time which resulted in an odor. Not a nice odor. Cork was nice, much smaller than Dublin which made for cleaner streets and less thieves in every direction. One of the nights, Nick felt the need to safisfy a gambling urge which left me to fly solo. I ended up with some of the people from my room, a very cute Argentenian (sp?)and a much less cute and much more creepy, older Argentenian. The older one told me many times that I am "nice" to look at. He also showed me photos of myself !!!!! that he had taken stalker style on his phone. I was less than impressed. We left the next day to for Dingle. It's really beautiful here. Huge cliffs and great walks everwhere. It woudl be amazing in teh summer for any avid hiker. Nick and I went on a hike to the town and saw many cow's (moo) and signs saying beware of bull eek. We went for dinner at a fish and chip shop before going to THe Small Bridge pub for some music. WE met up with a Swiss girl and Quebequois from our hostel there for some beers. They had crazy music and about 5 couples doing a traditional irish dance. I wnated to join in but sadly do not know the dance. AFter they stopped dancing, other people started to. It was not a traditional dance but it was still some type of Irish dancing. Some guy asked me to dance to which i accepted, but it was hard. Very fastmoving and twirling. looking back I don't know how I didnt fall on my ass.
I am rambling. I will stop now.
Love to all back home.
good on you if you've made it this far.
