Two times this week, I've noticed something, and I think God's trying to teach me something from it.
It's truly amazing.
There's this kid in my class, named Mai.
He's vietnamese, he doesn't speak very good english, but you can understand him and he can understand you.
He's very smart, and catches on quickly even when we move fast through the chapters.
But something interesting happened two days in a row.
It was the end of a lesson and everyong was relaxing and messing around.
There's this one older guy named Leslie.
He's from New Orleans.
His house and property got destroyed in hurricane Katrina, but I don't know why he's living up here to begin with.
Either way, Mai was going through the book and reading another chapter, even though we didn't have to.
Leslie kapt saying these vulgar things to him(I mean the manner in which he was saying them was hilarious, he's really funny).
Kind of derogatory things about women and their chests, bla bla
Mai comprehended what Leslie was saying, but he didn't care to join in.
He just smiled and went back to what he was doing.
The same thing wound up happening again today, and Mai came back with the same reaction.
Later on, when we were on break again, Mai took out this tennis ball, and said to another guy across the classroom, "Want play catch?".
And they did.
And he was happy.
It just hit me then.
He has such a pure mind.
He's our age, but doesn't think about any of the terrible things we think about.
I don't know if he follows God or anything,
but I felt something saying that's where we should be;
in that state of mind.
It wasn't that he wasn't trying to think about it or he was tempted or something.
It just wasn't there.
Such a simply pure mind.
He's always willing to help, and has such a kind aura about him.
I'm reminded in the bible of where it says that we should become like children.
I haven't seen anything like that in ..forever.
I could be the only one who sees it, but it meant something to me.
Perfect aspect.
Crazy.
