The surprise!
So you might have seen on Sue’s journal or my journal an hint of a surprise or cool upcoming project. Now that the right people have been notified personally, we can post more.
Most of you know Sue and I are a couple. Several years ago, before Christmas, I asked Sue for her hand in marriage. Five moves later, we took a serious look at when and where the event would be. The difficulty of arranging an event with friends and family all over the country, and the cost it would mean for many people who should not have to bear it, caused us to look for other ideas.
One evening we talked about how we might elope. About how we would do it if we wanted something fun, comfortable and us. As it turned out, our original wistful talk turned out exactly like we thought.
Sue and I have both enjoyed our trips out to Yosemite. It is an incredibly beautiful place:
The date was a bit of the inspiration: 10/10/10. At 10:10 AM, we were on the superintendent’s bridge:
We brought along our officiant and a few witnesses:
And had a wonderful ceremony surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery on earth:
There are a lot more details, but now the word is out. I’ll post more later. But for now, pics of us as the happy couple:
