Woo...what a crazy day. In between playing poker and playing Hide and Kill (Hide and Seek, but with killing), I managed to watch a pretty good portion of Survival Saturday (A Saturday in which teams tried to survive). Here's the rundown:
Well, I don't know about you, but I thought that Oklahoma State could pull off the upset against #1 Oklahoma. No such luck, Oklahoma cruises 52-9. In other intra-state games, Michigan edged out Michigan State 27-20. Also, Miami's 30-some game regular season winning streak is now over. Now, every team in college football except for Oklahoma has one loss. How crazy is that? Auburn scored 73 points last night - that's a lot. Arkansas won in 7 overtimes by a score of 61-53. And #23 Tennessee! They were tied with freaking Duke at 6 apiece for a while, but eventually pulled away and won 23-6.
So, I was talking with Steve, and I was trying to figure out when I first stated following college football and why I like Tennessee so much. I vaguely recall watching Peyton Manning and Major Applewhite, so I did a little research to find out what was going on. I figured that I was about 9 years old when I watched Tennessee play, but actually: 1999 was Manning's second season in the NFL, meaning that he was a senior in college in 1997. Hey, I WAS nine in 1997. That's cool! I think I was making up the fact that Tennessee ever played Texas though.
Anyway, in other news, the mighty Winged Lions of St. Pius X pulled off the huge upset, so everybody (makes "x" by crossing arms in front of face - you should try it, it looks cool). We're off to the Haven this Friday.
I really hope all of you are feeling okay - as well as Arkansas is feeling right now! Goodnight.
