It's all becoming so real.
This week I've been very productive in getting things going for moving and starting school. I signed a lease and paid a deposit on an apartment in Boone. I only seen pics of the inside, but the location seems to be sunny and close enough to both campus and transit. Fingers crossed that the pics are representative. The units from the same company that I actually saw seemed comparable to the pics, so there's a good chance it'll be okay. I also registered for classes and accepted my financial aid. Everything is moving so quickly!
Now I can start packing and settling my summer plans. Gotta pick a date for my breast reduction surgery, nail down a place to stay, and buy plane tickets. I've got to plan the physical details of moving, too. I think I'm gonna store my stuff in Boone to make move in simpler. I'm a bit worried about having to move in while being so recently recovered from chest surgery. It is what it is. I'll find help, and I'll also be pretty far along with my healing by the time I'm moving in.
I also got my scooter fixed this week, so I'm mobile again! Hooray! I missed being able to take joyrides and grocery shop easily. I think Boone is too snowy to make the scooter useful in the winter. I'm gonna miss it a lot, especially for grocery shopping, so I'm going to look into whether my impression of the weather is true. And I am going to start working on getting a driver's license, if I have time. And a motorcycle endorsement. :)
Phew! It's great that things are finally happening. Being so busy getting ready is helping to keep the sadness of knowing that I won't be living near my friends and lovers at bay.
