Uhm... neither do I actually, but Asheville strikes me as a town not overly inclined to get too bent out of shape about something strange walking down the street.

Asheville doesn't have a big problem with freaks. In some ways, I felt safer than I would have in Oakland; fewer people had visible reactions. Perhaps it's because of the way people are polite here. There are, however, some people here who don't like queers: A couple of people have gotten beaten up in the past couple months.
