the update
Here is my hopefully quick update in a numbered post:
1. The Macumba Premiere went great. It was good seeing and hanging out with some of the people from set, I haven't seen a lot of them in almost a year. I really enjoyed the movie and liked the way it came out, it was even better than I expected. It was awesome seeing my face on a theater screen, but for some reason I was more excited when I seen my name in the credits, heh. There was an after party downtown after the movie. Jordon came with me, who took a lot of the pictures I wanted. Yeah, drank a lot. Jordon and I started banging on people's houses and running away. We didn't leave Lafayette until about 5am, mainly due to John holding us back. It was a fun night.
2. I had mentioned I was having a party for my birthday. It was about a month in a half ago. Yeah, it was indeed fun. There were a lot of people, the rain made it almost impossible to park. I had got 2 kegs, which led to people doing keg stands all night. The people who had paid 5 dollars to drink all they want got a stamp on their hand that said, "Stu says drink bitch". All together, I spent 400 dollars on beer, by the next day I earned about 300 back, not bad. A friend of mine made me a "titty" cake, ha. The music turned off and everyone sang me happy birthday, then I crowded surfed lol. We had a mic connected to the stereo. The night was fun, and...interesting, ha.
3. John and I went to a pretrial. Remember the guy that robbed us in the park in Lafayette? It was for that. It was pointless to go, we have to go back in August. But...we seen him!! We seen the guy who robbed us! He isn't in jail so he was sitting with everyone else, he was like 2 rows behind us. After the pretrial, which ended early so we had free time, we decide to visit good ole SLCC. We go to our old film class, walk in, students are working on projects, and John and I just go to our old seats and sit down lol.
4. So, my grandma went to court a week ago. She will be in jail for 2 in a half years. That is a lot less than I thought it would be.
5. My backyard is one huge mud hole. People started riding 4-wheelers back there, which got it worse and worse heh. Some guys show up and decide to ride back there in a Tahoe, yeah, not a good idea. They get stuck. Someone goes get their truck to pull them out...they get stuck. We call someone else...they get stuck. We call yet another guy...he gets stuck. So it's 3 in the morning, about 15 of us in the muddy backyard, and 4 vehicles are stuck. Fuck it, I went to bed. Their shit stayed there til the next day.
6. I have recently made my health a small part of my life. Working at Cajun Fitness, I have a free membership, and I took advantage of that for a very short while at first, then I got out of it. Off and On for a few months I have been wanting to get back into it and get in shape, but it's always just a mood that comes and goes and I do nothing about it. It really helps to have something to motivate you, or do/get things to help motivate you, otherwise you get out of the mood to "get in shape". For the past 2 weeks I have been exercising and working out so I can get a little in shape and be more healthy. If you know me well, you know that I literally live off of fast food, no joke. I rarely eat home cooked meals. It's fast food everyday, all day. Well, I gave it up. I haven't eaten fast food in over 2 weeks(with the exception of a salad), and I drink pretty much nothing but water. The food is probably the biggest change. I love food, and now it feels limited, heh. Other than that, it has been good. I feel better. I have lost weight. I feel more healthy and energized. I like it.
7. The summer. Hmm, I'm not quite sure what's going on yet. You guys remember I mentioned that guy who I worked on Macumba with? Who said I can go stay with him in Los Angelas for the summer? That was suppose to be last summer, I just never went, I ended up going offshore again. Well at the premiere, John and I talked to him, and he is still all for it, he said to just let him know when we are ready to go. He works on movies for a living and said he thinks he can get us on, but it's not FOR SURE. So my thing is, I can go to LA for sure, but I'm not sure if I want too if I can't have a job there working on movies. He said if he can't promise a job, he can promise a good time, ha. Now, being in LA would be awesome whether I was working on movies or not, but I want to go for film experience and to make money. I would like to go either way, it's just my offshore summer money helps me out a great deal. If I can't get a movie job in LA and still go, I'm passing up money for a good time. The good time sounds nice, but I need to think smart.
8. There is more, a lot of stuff has been going on. Life is crazy right now. There is some stuff that is hard to even mention. I might touch on some things here and there, but this is good enough for now, I needed an update, and here it is. It wasn't quick, ha.
