The economy is really hurting
Not that I needed a reminder (I didn't even open my 401K statement), but today I visited a manufacturing business in Perris (Riverside county), and we noticed that there were very few cars in the huge parking lot.
When we approached to the front office, we noticed that there were two letters, one in Spanish and one in English. It says that they had to shut down the plant on 20th, and they are trying to get some financing (but actually they filed a bankrupcy) so that they may be able to open the business again.
It was really really sad. Imagine, you go to work as usual and see a letter telling you that you lost your job suddenly. I really hope the economy turns around ASAP. It may take a few years, as the same thing happened in Japan about 1992 or so and it took them 10 yrs to recover from the loss.
