Are they going to cancel the first preview of 9 to 5?
Without the state budget, I still managed to plan a business trip to L.A.. I'm going to attend a conference on 9/4, so I am flying down the day before, perfect timing to catch the very first preview of 9 to 5.. or is it?
Before this plan became official, I have been checking Ahmanson's site for the tickets for 9/3 performance. There were definitely lots of tickets for that performance left last week. Today, you cannot buy it online. So I called up the box office that they may be able to tell you that the tickets are actually all sold out (doubt it) or there's something happening.
The lady on the phone said "the performance is sold out," and I said "are you sure? Will there be a performance on 9/3?" because if there is, I'll just show up at the box office, I'm sure there will be a single ticket. This is not an opening night or closing performance. Even for Dolly, it's impossible that the first preview is sold out. She said she didn't know.
So I sent an e-mail to the manager. An Assitant manager replied saying they are told to hold off selling 9/3 tickets and check back with them in two days, which I certainly will. I just hope they won't cancel the first preview as I'll be in L.A. for only one night.
Edit: Not only they canceled the first preview night but they canceled two more performances. Ggrrrrrrr
