Designed to resemble the eye of a falcon, this symbol is called the Eye of Ra or Eye of Horus represents the right eye of the Egyptian Falcon God Horus. As the udjat (or utchat), it represented the sun, and was associated with the Sun God Ra (Re).

The mirror image, or left eye, represented the moon, and the God Tehuti (Thoth). (A very similar concept of the sun and moon as eyes appears in many religious traditions)

According to legend, the left eye was torn from Horus by his murderous brother Seth, and magically restored by Thoth, the God of magick. After the restoration, some stories state, Horus made a gift of the eye to Osiris, which allowed this solar deity to rule the underworld. The story of this injury is probably an allusion to the phases of the moon as the eye which is "torn out" every month.

~~~~~~the underworld???
Together, the eyes represent the whole of the universe, a concept similar to that of the Taoist Yin-yang symbol. Spiritually, the right eye reflects solar, masculine energy, as well as reason and mathematics. The left eye reflects fluid, feminine, lunar energy, and rules intuition and magick. Together, they represent the combined, transcendent power of Horus.
The Eye of Horus was believed to have healing and protective power, and it was used as a protective amulet, and as a medical measuring device, using the mathematical proportions of the eye to determine the proportions of ingredients in medical preparations) to prepare medications.
~~~~~~~the eye protects me???

Definitions of Eye of ra:
noun: a lion-headed Egyptian goddess; typifies life-destroying power of the sun

~~~~~~~~life-destroying...makes sence why i feel so weak when i see "the eye".
A famous myth involving Het-Hert in Her vengeful aspect as Sekhmet is that of the Destruction of Mankind. There are a number of versions of it found in various royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings at Thebes. In this story, Her Father Ra dispatches Het-Hert as His Eye in order to punish the transgressions of mankind, who had become willful and rebellious. Hethert turns into the lioness Sekhmet for this task, slaying men and leaving them in pools of blood in the deserts to where they had fled. In the process She becomes overzealous and nearly wipes out humanity.
~~~~~~~ummm....so im being punished for something? well i guess this certain problem is a punishment but...for what?

The All-Seeing Eye is a single human eye surrounded by radiating beams of light. It is found in many eras and cultures. It is generally a symbol of the watchful and protective power of the Supreme Being, especially when that entity is considered in a solar or heavenly context. It appears on the Great Seal of the United States, and is among the many beautiful symbols of Freemasonry, where it represents the Great Architect of the Universe. It is also known as the Eye of God.

~~~~~~~so if i were a beleiver, id be like, GOD IS WATCHIN ME! well, if he's up there, can he do somethin besides creep me out?
In regions where the evil eye belief occurs, the All-Seeing Eye is one of many forms of reflective eye-charm used as apotropaic talismans against the this danger. In its specifically protective role, the All-Seeing Eye appears on at least one North American Good Luck Coin to guard the bearer from evil.
~~~~~~doin a great job at warding evil isnt it...or maybe its the evil eye...searchin

The evil eye is a kind of curse put on a child, livestock, crops, etc., by someone who has the "evil eye." There does not seem to be any particular reason why some people are born with and others without the evil eye. The curse is usually unintentional and caused by praising and looking enviously at the victim. In Sicily and southern Italy, however, it is believed that some people--jettatore-- are malevolent and deliberately cast the evil eye on their victims. Belief in the evil eye is not necessarily associated with witchcraft or sorcery, though Evil Eye was something Church inquisitors were instructed to look for. Pope Pius IX was reputed to be a jettatore, not because it was thought he was malevolent but rather because it seemed that disasters fell upon persons and places he had blessed.

~~~~~~so either i've been cursed by someone who has the evil eye or....wait....i started seeing it when i met........
The superstitious belief in the evil eye is ancient and widespread, though certainly not universal. It is thought to have originated in Sumeria. Its origins are obscure but the belief may have its roots in fear of strangers or other social concerns and simple post hoc reasoning, e.g., praise is given or a stranger passes and later a child is sick or the crops fail. Various rituals have developed to counteract the effects of the evil eye, such as defusing the praise, putting spit or dirt on a child who is praised, averting the gaze of strangers, reciting some verses from the Bible or the Koran, etc. The belief is especially prevalent today in the Mediterranean and Aegean, where apotropaic amulets and talismans are commonly sold as protection against the evil eye. Some folklorists believe that the evil eye belief is rooted in primate biology (dominance and submission are shown by gazing and averting the gaze) and relates to our dislike of staring.
~~~~~~hmmm....very odd....i dont get it.....

The exceeding brightness of the early sun
Makes me conceive how dark I have become,
And re-illuminates things that used to turn
To gold in broadest blue, and be a part
Of a turning spirit in an earlier self.
That, too, returns from out the winter's air
Like an hallucination come to daze
The corner of the eye.

~~~~~~this poem was written in early 1900's by Wallace Stevens along with this next one
Could you have said the bluejay suddenly
Would swoop to earth? It is a wheel, the rays
Around the sun. The wheel survives the myths.
The fire eye in the clouds survives the gods.
~~~~~~soo, im not the only one seeing a fiery eye in the clouds....

'I am the fiery Eye of Horus, which went forth terrible, Lady of Slaughter, greatly awesome who came into being in the flame of the sunshine, to whom Ra granted appearings in glory... Mighty is the fear of you, great is the awe of you, mighty is your striking-power, great is your magic in the body of your foes... I have become the Eye of Horus! Behold me, men and gods! Set the fear of me and create awe of me on that plateau of the Stone of Brightness. I have come into being as the Lady of Glorious Appearings, I have reappeared in glory, I have made my being enduring, my flame is behind me, the awe of me is before me... Look with your eyes, you elder gods who aforetime came into existence with the ancestors, on this spirit who has come today! Is the Sole Eye stronger than the gods? So say I to my father Atum. Strength has gone forth to me from your mouth, and it means that I have become Her who is strongest among the gods, and Seth has fallen because of me...Behold me, men and gods! I have become the fiery Eye of Horus.'

~~~~~~~ummm....i.....dont.....know.....
ok, im not sure i can find more that doesnt repeat any of this stuff, and yet, im still confused as all hell, i MUST figure out what that eye is! i MUST know why it haunts me DAY IN And DAY OUT! oiy, what i wouldnt give for life to be simple once again....-le sigh-
