The post secret I most connected with was a pretty easy choice for me because I also have the same secret. I worked in an Italian restaurant for 2 years as a cook and when I saw the Outback Steakhouse secret I immediately decided that would be the one I wrote about. “I eat off your plate before I bring it to your table! YUM!” During the lunch rush we usually didn’t have time to eat while cooking so I can relate to snagging a tomato or a couple of fries now and then before sending a plate out to be delivered to the table. Ignorance is bliss, right? The garlic cheese bread was the best thing to snack on after making it for the customers because they would never notice whether or not a piece or two was missing from their plate. It was also one of my favorite dishes. I found this secret to be no big deal considering I too have done it, but the fact that it was at Outback is a little different than the local sub and pizza bistro in my hometown. The top third and bottom third of this postcard were what really got my attention. First, the fact that it is a check from Outback got my attention and the all capital letters at the bottom with bigger text really put emphasis on the word “yum”. Another part of this postcard that appealed to me was that it was a real order check from a restaurant. Instead of mailing it in, this person could have written a date, server, table, etc. and used it to serve customers. This tells me that he often does this because it is so easy to do as I have learned from experience. After reading this postcard and seeing that I connected with it, it kind of made me want to send one in.
