In the Land of Women
I know in the past that I have mentioned that I work with a bunch of women. I remember specifically saying I like that especially on the days where we have a pot luck lunch. Those ladies bring it to the house! Food is so good.
Well, for the Men's NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament a group of coworkers and myself all did a Bracket Pool. Originally, we had decided to do it for fun with nothing really on the line...mainly for bragging rights. We filled ours out and watched the games.
The votes are in...the points are tallied...you know who won?
ME! That's right, I called it! (If by saying that North Dakota would beat BU in the National Championship [it was Michigan State over Boston College] means I called it)
I had the most correct...picked the entire Western two brackets correctly. And a lot of them went with homer picks in SCSU in the first and second round. I've been burned by that play a lot. It's like picking Kansas in basketball. Just don't do it.
Anyway, I knew I had it locked up going into the Frozen Four...but I really wasn't bragging about it...only probably because I wasn't working that week. I went back to work and found a little box with my name on it. I opened it up and the women from work must have thrown down a couple of bucks and bought me a bottle of Merlot. A nice prize indeed. Now maybe I won't brag so much ;)
