well, that sucked. i had a huge post ready and then i get disconnected.
awesome.
so, how's everybody doing? i hope all is well.
it's been a while since i've done a real post. just thought i'd let y'all know what's going on.
things are going well right now. i hate to say anything and jinx it all, but, what the hell, everything is going well.
i've been back in school for about 5 weeks now and i'm really enjoying it.
i'm studying the GTAW(Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) process. also known as the TIG(Tungten Inert Gas) process. hands down the hardest process to master. i have to admit i'm doing pretty damn good and my instructor thinks so, too.
you've all seen this type of welding even if you think you haven't you probably have. if you've ever watched a car or bike show on TV and you've seen some welding then it's probably been this process. it's easily indentified by the torch and filler rod. if you've ever seen a guy holding a torch in one hand and filler rod in the other then you've seen this process. yeah, that's what i'm doing and it's freakin' awesome.
it's so clean and so quiet and the welds look amazing.
so class is great and i'm really enjoying it.
oh yeah, big news, strike up the band and start the parade. i am the new AWS Student Chapter Vice-Chairman. AWS is the American Welding Society. pretty much the final authority on any and all things welding. there are several districts throughout the country and each district has a governing body. any school in a disctrict that teaches welding also has a student chapter and students are elected to be officers. my school's chapter recently had some openings and i was nominated and elected to be the new Vice-Chairman so that's pretty freakin' sweet. AWS student chapter also pays half of your AWS Membership fees. normally $80, but for students it's $15 and student chapter will pay $7.50 of that. so that's freakin' sweet.
aight, so things are going very well right now and i'm really enjoying it.
once this cooler weather rolls in i'll be feeling really good and my 21st b'day is coming up and that should be alot of fun.
haha..almost forgot. couple of months ago i got a ticket for running a stop sign. ok, so the court date was coming up soon and i was almost certain it was the 23rd. i take out the ticket a couple days ago and see that it was the 13th. so i think i'm screwed because i missed the court date and my aunt who works for the jefferson county courthouse is telling me there will be a warrant issued for my arrest and if i get pulled over the officer will arrest me and i'll be thrown in jail and my license will be suspended. so, yeah, i'm thinking i'm pretty much screwed. well, monday afternoon i get the mail and i've got a letter from the City of Helena telling me they've extended my court date to Oct. 11th and i can still pay the $154 fine without any penalties, but if i miss the next deadline they WILL issue a warrant for my arrest and i WILL spend time in jail and they WILL suspend my license. so i was much relieved to hear they'd extended the deadline.
so even with alot of crazy stuff going on all is still going well.
actually just found out my grandfather was in a bad car wreck today, but everything is fine. he says he's ok, but refuses to go to the hospital to get checked out, but he's a tough old dude. he should be fine.
so, other than that, everything is well.
well, that's all for now.
hope everyone is great and all is well in your lives and i would just like to remind you all to take it easy and enjoy life, cause this is the only one you get.
peace and love,
big phil
