A new first
I fell off my scooter last night. Got cocky going through a turn, went too fast/leaned too far, and fell over.
I have a catalog of minor injuries: bruises on my limbs, scrapes on my knee and elsewhere, and a very small fracture on my toe which I just have to wait several weeks to heal. (The health center gave me Ace bandages, and one of those stiff shoes, but their advice is to just do whatever feels best, and all that stuff didn't feel that much better, so I'm not sure if I will use that stuff much.)
Equipment-wise: the scooter runs alright, but I need to fix a wing mirror that came loose, and check it over for other problems. My gloves are trash (they weren't motorcycle gloves, so they fell apart). The helmet seems okay, but the thing is, you just can't trust it. Even though I'm fairly certain I didn't hit anything but the face shield, there's no way to be certain, so the safe thing to do is throw it out. (The padding inside helmets is one-use-only.)
