Pet peeve: When people feel the need to fiddle with the thermostat, why do they turn up/down the temperature and set the control to "ON" instead of "AUTO"? Doesn't the latter defeat the entire purpose behind changing the temperature control? And for that matter, why do people flick the temperature setting 10 degrees or more instead of putting it where they want it?
In other words, why do people who can do higher math and operate complex equipment suck at using a thermostat? The thing's only got three controls on it, and two of them should not undergo frequent modification.
