The weekend post!

So I had an awesome weekend. It started on Friday with the viewing of 23. Me and Annie initally went to the movies to see 300 but getting there at 6:30 for the 7:15 showing obviously wasn't enough when it was sold out until 11:15 that night. So we instead watched the number 23.

I have to say I like Jim Carrey in serious roles more than I like his comedy. His comedy routine was fresh when it first came out but now its stale and even being copied by others. But I haven't seen Jim Carrey in a comedy where he continued his intial comedy routine since the mask 2.

Early Saturday morning Tom came to pick me up and drove me and his roommates to Rock Island for the hotel party we were having that weekend. We get to Rock Island and head to the theater so we can view 300 together. Apparently half the group went to one theater and we went to another so we were split up. By the time the movie was over Dan and Annie had arrived in Rock Island and met up with us without too much of a problem.

The night began with an explination of the game we were playing that night. Wizardstaff, This game is played by drinking cans of alcohol. Once you finish your first beer you duct tape the next on top of the one you just drank. The number of cans represnted your level wizardry. During this time you could duel other mages where you hit the other mage and their cans with your staff trying to break their staff. The ones whos staff breaks loses and the winner can claim their cans. Needless to say this game was rediculous. I started my own staff made up of Liptons Rasberry Iced Teas so I was refered to as the priest of the party.

I brought guitar hero 2 but there was no outlits in the back of the TV so we were SOL there but it didn't matter. We made multiple trips to the hot tub and to the pool. The only downer about the hot tub was the large number of kids were in it and the time when me and Josh's girlfriend looked at each other and realized it was time to get out of the pool when the rather drunk person next to her slid A lot closer to her after whispering to his friend.

There was a lot of needless drunk arguing and drunken banter involving 300 and who won the wizard staff at the end due to invalid consumptions of cans... drunk intellegent people... aren't intellegent people!

The two highlights of the night were Marco Polo in the pool late at night with a large group of people. Which started by me dunking josh in the water a whole bunch of times. The second highlight of the night was mini golf. Yes the place had a mini golf place. What made the night was me and tom's team. THE SPARTANS! (Tom was the only other one that really enjoyed the movie like I did) During the mini-golf me and Tom yelled "SPARTA!" And other silly phrases like "A spartan could make that putt. Too bad you are no... (waits for player to take the shot) SPARTAN!" We ended up winning by one put after I masterfuly saved the team on the last hole by distracting Josh long enough to allow Tom to yell SPARTA! at mark taking his last put. Yes we were assholes but we all laughed at the end.

Other fun things were the small amount of time I spent as a phalanx using a pizza box as my sheild and my wizard staff as my spear poking someone who challanged me. Then we went to Steak and shake at the end of the night to cap it off. It was a great night.

The party finished the next day at a food place called Garfields. It was in the south park mall which I practically lived at when I went to school in Rock Island but I never went to. The food was good.

The weekend gets 4 out of 5 spartans.

The final spartan complained there wasn't enough persian killing in the weekend (since there were no actual persians harmed in the making of this weekend)
