i fucking hate gentrification
i hate condos
i hate fancy grilled cheese sandwiches with fake italian names that cost $7
i hate people who have an expensive messenger bag but not a bike
i hate people who buy a big house that used to be divided up into apartments and rented out to like three mexican families, then decorate with mexican handicrafts.
i hate that i've lived in north park my whole life but when i'm walking or riding my bike around i feel like another snotty little rich white hipster asshole
even though i don't think i'm snotty, i'm definitely not rich, i don't pay enough attention to fashion to be a hipster and i try not to be an asshole.
in the eyes of your average (but increasingly rare) old-school north park/golden hill-ian i probably don't look much better than some chick with, like, huge plugs and a heart tattoo on her chest smoking american spirits and drinking a $4 cup of coffee while pretending to read sartre outside one of those places like influx or krakatoa.
