MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm shiny new stuff make Pete happy
Today, I decided to get myself back up to speed on the old gaming frontage by purchasing a PS3 slim.
I traded in £91 worth of games and my PS2 (fat) console at Gamestation (who paid me £1 per item more than Cex would) and got the following for £208 :
PS3 Slim
Extra Controller
Blu-Ray Remote Control
HDMI Cable
Ashes Cricket 2009 game
James Bond : Quantum of Solace Blu-Ray
Gamestation wouldn't take my PSP as they said it was "foreign" (damn you TheLink.co.uk for giving me a non UK one when I got that phone a couple of years ago!) but Cex did give me £50 store credit, so all good. Will use that to buy a few more games soon.
I was impressed at Gamestation ... it was no mean feat to go through all the stuff I was trading in, then checking all the prices, then adding £1s to each, then testing the PS2.
They wouldn't price match Cex *and* deal match Blockbuster and give me the Batman game with the deal and none of the games they offered were my thing. So I said, "give me the game which has he highest trade in value cos I want the Ashes Cricket game" ... so they did that and then just at the end the manager guy said "you don't really want that game do you?" ... "to which I said "no, not really" so he did sommet on his till and and I ended up with the Ashes game. I *think* he sold me the bundle with one of the 4 games on offer and then did a straight swap for the Ashes game I did want. Nice chap. Very helpful. Very friendly. All good.
So there ya go ... I'm all set up for some up to date gaming. Now, all I need is a new HD TV, I guess?! ;) Hehe ... all in good time me thinks.
