Our First Anniversary
We spent this past weekend celebrating our first anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. We did a lot of things that tied our anniversary together with either our honeymoon or when we started dating. Three and a half years ago on our first date we went to see Fever Pitch with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore (not the best movie, but cute). And so last thursday we went and saw Jimmy Fallon do stand-up here in Nashville. (To be honest, Margaret Cho's stand-up was much funnier, but at least Jimmy had some clever songs that he played on his guitar. A good time, nonetheless.)
Then we spent last night at Opryland Hotel, which was very nice and romantic. Granted, it's only two miles away on our very own street but staying there is an experience in itself. I recommend that everyone stay at least once. They placed us in a room right beside the Cascades waterfalls with a wonderful fifth-floor balcony. We brought along a bottle of Vernaccia wine that we carried back with us from Tuscany on our honeymoon. We're lucky we were able to safely bring it back from Italy and actually go a whole year without drinking it. It was nice to sit back and remember our great times in Europe last year.
All in all it was an excellent anniversary, and i hope we get to have fifty more. I'm very blessed to have such an amazing wife. I truly am a lucky guy.
