Pot

If you've spoken to me recently then you know I want pot legalized. If you also know me then you know I have fibromyalgia. For those who don't know what that is it's considered an autoimmune disease, a sister disease to lupus. I am one chromasone away from having full blown lupus.
My symptoms of having fibromyalgia include: chronic fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, spontaneous weight gain or loss to the extremes, depression, sleep disturbances, numbness, dizziness, digestive problems, and even more difficult menstural pain than usual.
The treatments of fibromyalgia prescription pain killers and antidepressants.

Both most common pain killers and antidepressants are HIGHLY addictive. Both made me sick to my stomach so I have to take another pain killer for that then it makes me sleepy so I take an upper to stay awake and a downer to stay alseep and another joint med to take away the side effect of the downer and etc.

I am in constant pain and so far out of everything I've tried, pot is the only thing that has made me experience less pain. I sleep a deep REM sleep for a full 8 hours instead of my usual 10 hour sleep that isn't really sleep. I was underweight and now I'm at a constant 130 lbs (which is healthy for my height). After the initial buzz, I'm more energized. And as for depression, I'm don't really give a fuck when I"m smoking pot.
Unfortunately, it's illegal!
Common Myths

1. it burns brain cells.
It burns as many brains cells as if you were breathing normally. Alcohol and cigarettes burn more brain cells.

2. It'll give you lung trouble later.
My dad uses this all the time. If you've been camping and had a camp fire then you done just as much harm as pot. If you've been in a city with smog, you've done just as much damage as pot. If you have allergies and live in Chattanooga, you've done as much damage as pot. It's that simple.

3.It'll make you lazy.
Granted, it won't make you want to run a marathon but neither do the antidepressants but no one bitches about that. But it effects people different, personally, I tend to go on my normal activities AS IF I WERE HEALTHY!

4.It's worst than herion.
My dad said this and he's never seen people on herion. I have though and it is not cool.

5. Pot will make you die.
Say that outloud. Close your eyes, think of a famous person on cocaine (Whitney Houston) think how unhealthy they looked. Now, think of someone on herion and think of all the celebrities that have overdosed on it. Now think of any meth addicted person...not pretty. Okay, now think of someone on pot. They're just laying on the cough eating Doritos....scary.
Seriously, I can only name one case of a person dying of pot and that was a guy that smoke a pound of pot in a non ventilated room and he died of oxygen deprivation. Basically, it was like he lit a campfire and didn't let the smoke out. He didn't die of THC.

Now, I may be harsh or mean or a bitch to people who don't agree with me on legalization but consider this: I was on the phone with tricare (my insurance) and a small origanation wants to experiment the effects of pot on patients with fibromyalgia. I wanted to be part of it. Tricare does not cover experiments. I wanted to be on a government list of people who can legally smoke pot, I can't do that. I am desperate for a treatment and the only one that works is illegal.
Then I watch some TV and an antidrug commerical comes on and it's about pot. It was saying that if you smoke pot, you're only trying to fit in, you're lazy, you're never going to ammount to anything, You're going to die, etc.
Then I escape that by going on myspace and I see that one of my friends thinks that pot will kill and I will admit, I flipped out. I'm sorry that I did flip out because it's not that person's fault that the U.S. sucks ass. I was mad on a multiple level of things. But now we all know and knowledge is power.
