Almost a year...

So its been almost an entire year since I last posted anything on this cyber notebook. A lot of things have changed, some for the better, some not over the past year. So here it is in recap style.

I'm back for a second year at OHCHS, I'm really excited about that. The school is great and I can't really see going through the hiring process again. Even if I only had two interviews to go through.

I'm looking to chair the transition committee for next year. We would look at smoothing the transition from 8th to 9th grade. There are some huge hurdles we have our students jump through at OHCHS that they should be prepared for when they get here. It does hurt my chances only being a 2nd year teacher, but I've talked to the admin team and they think I should go for it. It helps that I actually teach freshman!

On that note, and the school kick I'm on...my schedule for next year is all freshman. 6 classes of atmospheric/space science. I dont know how I feel about that. I really enjoyed my semester physics this year. I got to teach physics in a more conceptual way than normal physics classes. I skipped out on the crazy math (Thank you Mr. Stancioff for a month of hell btw!) and had a very hands on approach.

I'm looking at a 750kv VDGG for next year. I do a kick ass weather unit and want my own lightning machine so I don't have to bug the physics nuts for theirs.

I'm feeling around for a Masters program like many other new teachers I know are planning. I have now idea what Im going to do. Either Science or Tech related I know that for sure.

Personal Garbage:

Those who read this know the ridiculous good news....so no need to type it out again. We go the 28th for our first appointment...I'm pumped.

I'm also scared as hell on the philosophical aspect of the news. I'm fighting the war in my head about being able to pass on "need to know" information to them when they are older. I don't think I have enough worldly experience for my newly acquired endeavors.

We're also looking for houses around the half way point between our schools. I stress just looking... we're no where near ready for that. But its exciting to look around.

So...update in another year? who knows...
