Today I was officially inducted into Sigma Gamma Tau, the national aerospace engineering honor society. I normally balk at honor societies, but I figured this one would be worthwhile since I'd get to know people in the ASE department, and the smart ones at that. The pledge process ended up being pretty fun, though it was somewhat tough to manage with my full schedule. After the induction and food, officer elections were held. Surprisingly, I was nominated and elected to treasurer! I'm an officer in a student organization and I don't even feel like a resume-padding whore! The position will no doubt force me to interact with the other members more, which I see as a good thing.
