New (old) fandom?

So I've been watching The Sentinel, even though a long while back I watched part of the first episode and decided I wouldn't like it. Turns out, I must have been in a bad mood or didn't watch enough, because I'm five episodes in and I'm enjoying it a lot. If you have no idea what this show is, just know that it's a 90's cop show that's reportedly extremely slashy. A hell of a lot of Due South fans came to Ds because of The Sentinel fandom and its writers, so I figured I would give it another shake since I'm definitely a Due South fan. I can see where people say the actual show isn't all that great, but the lead actors are definitely a plus and I'm waiting patiently for the super awesome slash. I see bits and pieces here and there, but I know I must wait for the really big stuff, which is kind of fun. And I miss the 90's so hard. The plaid. The haircuts. The lingo. Giant cell phones.

Also, watching this show, I am spoiled for other fandoms after Star Trek. I'm like, where's the slash? Aren't you supposed to be flirting in practically every scene? I mean hell, Star Trek's first fucking scene has Kirk and Spock flirting shamelessly over a game of chess. Kirk and Spock make Fraser and Ray Kowalski almost seem straight in comparison, and that's pretty scary since I didn't think you could get gayer than riding off into a sunset. But they did it, oh how they did it.

slash, fandom, police husbands, space husbands, due south
