Oh you poor soul, what a terrible time to jump in, lol. It's hard for me to say that you would love the first seasons more, because I came into spn fandom way back when season two started, so I consider the first two to three seasons as magnificent and awe-worthy while newer fans tend to care more about the later seasons and find them more interesting. It's really fascinating how ships follow the same logic as well; new fans tend to LOVE Dean/Castiel while old fans either stick to wincest or gen (or like me, going from wincest back to gen back to I don't give a shit, let an orgy ensue for all I care.) If you're only a little interested, I can give you the big must-see episodes and you can judge from that, or just start from the beginning. I think I've seen the Pilot 1,000 times, and every person I've shown it to has come out of it being interested in the show, even if they don't stick around. I may be jaded now, but spn fandom was once a huge part of my life and I'm only a little sad that it hasn't gained in popularity until recently. I mean, fans had to struggle to get a third season, it was that looked over.
