SPN reaction and surprise!Smallville

A few thoughts on SPN, which are pretty much unpopular all around, but hey, not my fandom anymore, so whatever. :D

*I enjoyed this episode. It wasn't the best episode ever, but I'm glad we now have some semblance of a plan, even if it's to get magical rings so their powers can combine and bring forth Captain Planet-I mean, trap Lucifer. HEART!!

*I don't care if Gabriel is dead, there I said it. He was made a little bit awesome in this episode, but come on, the guy spent his off time teaching humans a "lesson" and all of a sudden he's all about being on their side? Plus, I was kind of tired of the Sam/Gabriel ship. How did such a minor crack pairing get so popular? And this is shallow, but the guy who plays him is not attractive, and his character is goofy/over the top/cracktastic for the most part. I mean, he put his final words as a porn movie.

*I don't get people being upset over how they treated other religions in this episode. I mean, fi anything, I'd say they treat Christianity worst, what with angels being dicks and God not giving two shits about people. The whole show pretty much is just saying gods and supernatural beings suck, humans rock.

*I loved the pie scene. I loved Dean showing his concern over Sam's health. I miss these simple moments, just Dean looking out for his bro on a small, normal scale.

*So Mischa may not be back next season, so Castiel may die? Seriously, that sucks because I do love Castiel, but it's not the worst thing ever to me, especially if they have him die in an awesome and epic way. I liked Dean/Cas for a bit back in season four and I do see where it comes from, but really and truly it's not that amazing to me. In fact, I'd rather this show shipped no one. God, do we have to have ships in every show? I just love the boys and their story.

*Sixth season, YAY. No more apocashit, good old episodes and Sam and Dean saving people, hunting things. Last year I wanted SPN to end in season five because the show was so crappy that it needed to have its life support turned off. Now that it's trying more and is getting a bit better, I need a sixth season to banish a lot of the crappier bad stuff. Of course, this could be the biggest case of "be careful what you wish for" ever because they could butcher this show next year, but I'm hopeful for the moment.

Annnnd I'm pissed because I wrote out a thing on Smallville including recs that got eaten because I was stupid and didn't save my document. Fail, self. Well um, I miss Clex? I intend to watch the third season soon since I re-watched and gave away my first two season DVDs to a friend some months ago, so I may go ahead and re-watch those episodes.

I just really miss the old days. I pretty much consider seasons 1-3 canon and the rest an insane alternate universe. Don't get me wrong, not all of season four was terrible and I love, love, LOVE Transference, but for the most part, my canon is 1-3, and that's because it's perfect. I can pretend that Lana stayed the fuck in Paris for good, Lex/Lana never happened, Lois Lane is not real and is only Chloe's pen name, and Clex eventually worked things out in a slashier way (though I do approve of the fourth season episode in which Lex apologizes and says a speech in a locker room filled with half naked men and Jensen Ackles. There is no wrong in this.) I also subscribe to the theory that in Onyx, good Lex was pushed out, but that one's flimsy and it means I have to adopt episodes before that as canon, and I want to pretend the witchcraft episode never occurred.

So here's where I had recs and described them, but yeah, don't feel like writing them out again, so I'll just link to my delicious that really only has 34 fics. I wouldn't miss The Identical Series, Moving On, Project Perdiccas, Protection, or Convergence, the fic I stole my big bang idea from. To be fair, they stole it from Star Trek first. :P

nostalgia, that show with the gay alien, spn reaction, recs
