Requiem for Methuselah: In which a single slash scene can make it worth watching a shitty episode

Apr 06, 2010 21:23

Before I start in, if you're a big fan of both Star Trek and satire, there was this awesome episode parody written for this episode and I just had to physically scan and share with you guys. It's called Requiem for a Hack. It had me laughing my freaking ass off.

I subjected myself once again to the episode Requiem for Methuselah. I had only seen ( Read more... )

slash, meta, their love is oh so canon, tos, space husbands, 40 years too late episode reaction

The worst episode is - bar none - Spock's Brain. I'm feeling nauseous just thinking about it.

But yes, the "forget" scene is slashy goodness! :-)

You know, I don't totally hate Spock's brain. But maybe it's because I secretly love ridiculous crack. It's just so BAD that it's good, simply because you can laugh at it so much. I sat and counted, and they say the word 'brain' 33 TIMES. The worst episode for me was probably either Let This Be Your Last Battlefield or Assignment: Earth. God I hated the latter one. :/

LMAO about your "blow my mind" icon!

Late reply is late! :P Assignment: Earth is the retarded one in which they meet Gary 7 and go back in time AGAIN to stop a ship from launching or some shit, I forget. :/ The Nazi one is Patterns of Force, and besides being amusing as all hell ("We'll make a human of you yet, Mr. Spock." "I hope not."), it features fucking BDSM.

Isn't that one The Omega Glory, the one with the big speech on America and Kirk practically rolling himself up in the American flag? That one is indeed stupid.

Ah Spock's Brain. Glorious crack right there. :)

First: Your analyzation is just amazing and I s enjoyed reading it - and needless to say I agree with almost everything. Especially I love the Violins which I haven't even noticed before, at least not their repetitive occurance - shame on me.

And I like Spock's Brain a lot too. It's so slahsy!! Okay, all the "surgery" is a bit, well, stupid but I love this ep for all the little scenes of which this one is my favourite:
When McCoy asks Kirk where he wants to find the brain and how unlikely it is to find it Kirk says with so INCREDIBLY much determination "I'll find it". AAAWWWW!!! Course he does, course he would do everything to find it and this conviction in his voice and deeds!!! And how he fights the girls to find the brain and everything....*raves about*

My worst one would be probably "The Savage Curtain" as it's just so silly...
(But then I love it for Kirk's wonderful "Oh dear")

Ehr...sorry for rambling...

It's like, it has elements of stupid and a whole plot to fetch Spock's brain itself is cracky, but damn, look at the Gorn, or the unicorn dog, or a million other cracky things in the series. This episode gets a bad rap, lol. I'm halfway through writing an analysis on the episode, because I feel it needs to be redeemed. :D My favorite part is, "Captain, there is a distinct pleasurable experience connected with the hearing of your voice." HOLY BUTTSEX BATMAN.

Oh lord, The Savage Curtain. I sort of like meeting Spock's conception of Surak, and I like how he ends up getting his ass killed because of his principles, and Spock of course, choosing to stay by Kirk's side.

I like rambling, it's practically a sport where I'm concerned. :P

They DID have lots of silly things/alien/creatures and still maged to be somehow the best show ever coz of the charakter interaction and the personality that can be found within. And, well, of course for K/S and Shatner/Nimoy.
And with that it's such a fun to watch.

Anyway, the line you quotet form Spock'S Brain? AMAZING. Pretty intimate and oh so lovely!! And Spock, wait til you get to touch him :)
Also, he just knows Kirk needs emotional security and as a human to hear the words.

nd Spock of course, choosing to stay by Kirk's side.
So true! Always. You could see the struggle in him, and he still was kind of awed to meet the "image of Surak" - but Kirk is the captain. Of his heart.
I actually think that the Pike/Talos affair was one of the biggest challanges for them, relationship wise.

So, I did my sport here for today :))

PS:
This rent boy icon? HILARIOUS.
What a shame ther's no contact number...*giggle*
