Back the fuck up, and sit the fuck down, because I'm about to blow your mind. Kirk and Spock (TOS) are canon, because Roddenberry himself wrote this book, it was made into a movie, and there is no other way to interpret this shit. Just reading the novel! I was there, reading and eating dinner at the same time, and I swear the fork paused on its way to my mouth for a whole minute and then I had to sit there for a while, staring at the page, reading it over and over again to see if I hallucinated it. And then I exploded and did a small search to see if ANYONE had ever written about this, and lo, nothing! :O
