I'm glad my flist is pretty cool
I couldn't watch the premiere last night (FAIL) but I did watch it today. Maybe I was spoiled too much, but mostly I'm getting a bad vibe and I don't know why.
I won't even talk about the awesome stuff, like THE HUG, douching up the Impala, and Bobby, since they're by far awesome and great and all are in agreement. Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited and shit, but I just want to talk about concerns, not the great parts.
Also, the general consensus is that Ruby sucks ass. They should have dropped her character altogether. Plus, WTF, is Sam fucking her? Of course there's the gross, icky, unethical meat-suit issue, but I FUCKING HATE IT WHEN A RELATIONSHIP COMES OUT OF NOWHERE AND IT'S LIKE, "HERE WE ARE, TA-DA!" Just, no. I want answers in that department, because I'm freaked.
And Sam and Dean's reunion...it just seemed a little flat. Oh I know we got the hug, and it was great, don't get me wrong. And the necklace, nice touch. But the rest of the episode... I mean, when they get in the car and interact elsewhere, Sam and Dean just look normal. I'm not even that close to my sister, but if she were dead for four months and she was ALIVE AGAIN, I wouldn't be able to stop looking at her in wonderment and shit. Sam could have at least looked wobbly at Dean ONCE after the hug. Even in last year's premiere, M7, the part where Sam is filling a container with holy water and Sam and Dean just LOOK AT EACH OTHER? That spoke more to me than even that hug did. I miss THAT. I just feel like this season can either be fucking awesome or it can go to crap like season three did. I mean, compare season one and season three. The whole TONE of the show was different and I loved season one so much better. It's almost like Sam is a whole other person and they're making Dean into a caricature.
And the angel is perfect. His character is perfect thus far.
