lesson to learn: your ears tell you more than just what sounds are around you.
Anyone's ears can do this, so it's not superpower related (although I had a dream a while back was hehe)...
Walking through Mallinkrodt just to get back to the 40, I noticed there was someone walking behind me and to the left. I had not seen this person either, as they entered Mallinkrodt after me. Suddenly, my brain was focusing on the fact that the person behind me and to the left was a woman, merely based on the sounds of her shoes on the brick floor. I didn't even pay attention to this fleeting thought, until suddenly she passed me!
Pretty neat, huh?
The mind can tell you things beyond what you see... Likewise, what you see tells you things that you can't hear. I find a fun exercise is to separate the senses... too many people blend it all together, and forget what sense is telling them what. This bugs me, primarily because all no one usually realizes it, and may form bad judgements from them.
