This is my very first Sims drabble ever, so I need to get the hang of all this stuff. Hopefully you’ll bear with me on this.
Anyway, for those of you who are curious, this drabble is for my asylum, where I’m using premades as unplayable sims, so I don’t claim these characters as my own.
Enjoy!
This afternoon had been very hard on Gvaudoin. She was cleaning the entire lavatory for over an hour, but nothing seemed to get done. All that mopping, scrubbing, and wiping were all in vain. The toilet was constantly leaking, the grime on the sink was impossible to scrub despite her best efforts, and the entire room emitted a foul stench that even reached the parlor and the sleeping quarters. Even worse, the bathtub in the bathroom on the other edge of the sleeping quarters was faulty and spouting even more water than the toilet. In fact, it was spouting so much water that the bathroom floor was literally flooded.
Blasted swine! she thought. All these people here are nothing but filthy, idle swine! I do not deserve such toilsome labor! Such tasks are reserved only for the lowly scullery maid, not a dignified lady like me! If only I had Mr. Grunt to assist me, it would facilitate my stay in this hideous hovel.
As soon as she started mopping the floor again, she heard the sound of the door opening and someone’s footsteps on the water. She immediately stopped and turned around while holding her mop. “What is it that you want?” she asked the figure.
“Wow! You really need some help here!” a familiar voice coming from the figure spoke up. “Can I help you with this, my dear?”
“Indubitably, Mr. Grunt. I shall have to focus my current efforts on the floor, but the filthy sink requires intense scrubbing and wiping as well. You are obliged to undertake this challenge.”
After hearing this, Buck immediately grabbed a sponge on the sink, soaked it with water, and started scrubbing the sink intensely. Unfortunately, like Gvaudoin, he achieved very little in terms of cleaning it completely. His hands were hurting from all that menial but futile labor even after a few minutes of scrubbing. On top of that, the toilet had to be unclogged to prevent water from leaking. There was one problem, though. He had no idea how to repair it, even with a plunger right behind it.
He even wondered whether or not there are other things that needed repair as well, but in such a situation like this, he doubted that Gvaudoin would listen to him. This time, however, he must muster up any courage to ask her no matter the potential risks.
“Are the sink and toilet the only things I have to deal with?” he asked.
“Alas, it is not meant to be,” she sighed as she continued to mop. “The bathtub on the edge of the house was faulty and was endlessly spouting water. If you want to risk getting your apparel wet, you are more than welcome to.”
Upon hearing those words, Buck groaned loudly. This will be a very exhausting day with no rest.
