I woke up today and felt like it was going to be a waste. Nothing planned. It turned out to be pretty good. A lot of WoW stuff. Listened to the soundtrack this morning. Then did some reading. I'm currently reading Arthas: Rise of the Lich King. It's pretty good, I'm enjoying it. I've already read The Last Guardian and Illidan this year. Really enjoyed TLG. Illidan was well written but I had been expecting it to be his back story so slightly disappointed but was definitely worth reading.
Then this afternoon I went out onto my balcony to water my seeds and saw a seedling! Then another... and then another... and a little soil shifting and another! Two spinach seeds have sprouted and two lavender! I was super excited as I expected to not get anything trying to grow from seeds (my previous plant ventures have not ended well). It's also only been a week since I planted them. Hopefully I can keep them alive! No sprouts from the oregano or basil ones though. The strawberry plants, that I didn't start from seeds, also now have 4 berries starting between the two plants. I need to get more pots and plant the tomatoes, sage, rosemary, and parsley seeds I also have.
Finally played more of the Legion expansion in WoW too. I've not really played since it started... just fell off and had no desire. It's actually a lot of fun. Spent probably 3-4 hours total playing today and gained a couple levels on my mage and got the second artifact weapon, Felo'melorn. My first spec is arcane so I've had Aluneth. Got a couple of relics for Aluneth and enough artifact power to gain 3 talents. Hopefully I get back to playing regularly... I'm already so far behind.
To cap of the day I decided to try cooking one of the tri tips I got. I've never cooked tri tip and I don't have a grill but decided to give the oven a shot. It actually came out pretty good. I'm happy with the spices I chose and it was really quite simple to cook. Just rubbed it with olive oil and sprinkled on some sea salt, freshly ground three peppercorn blend, mustard powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Unfortunately the source on the internet I got for temps was about 5 or 10 degrees off so it was a little more cooked than I had wanted. Still some pink though and it was tender. Paired it with some sweet potatoes and green beans and I had a nice dinner. Plenty left over, too, it was a 2 pound roast.
Not sure why but I really wanted to post about today even though I've been bad about posting. Immortalize it for memory's sake, I guess :)
