literally, I kid you not, this has happened to me.
Mychael's bachelorette party is on Sunday in Calistoga and I'm really excited for it. I'm not necessarily looking forward to the drive up, but i am looking forward to hanging out by the pool in the sun once I get there. The wedding is in a couple of weeks and i still need to get the present. I hope andy pays me back for part of it.
Then, I have to figure out my plans for the three weddings that I have this summer/fall. Who am I going to stay with? Where am I going to stay? Do I rent a car, should I stay an extra couple of days to see people..etc. Not necessarily looking forward to the planning part, but the actual weddings will be fun =).
Now, the funeral is for my Uncle Jimmy who died last friday. I wasn't really close to Uncle Jimmy..i only saw him every now and then because he lived on the East Coast. However, he is part of my family, and I've gotten really close to his daughters recently. I tried tried to get myself to his funeral..getting there wasn't really the problem, it was the getting back without missing too much school that was the problem and eventually I just gave up. Quite literally, four weddings and a funeral.
On a happier note, the Beijing Opera paper is done and turned in. I've started working on the Christams Carol, I've gotten over my jet lag, and it's spring =). I also get to see Oakland Ballet tomorrow night, which I'm really excited for. They're performing The Secret Garden and I'm excited to see it with dancers that I actually know. The last time they performed this was in '97...11 years ago..it's been a while.
I also have to think of another paper topic for Joel. It's a 5 page paper that could possibly bloom into a longer research paper later on..and it has to do with theatre history. thoughts are totally welcome, of course.
Anyway..back to reading about theatre history...
funerals,
ballet,
papers,
weddings
