To those who declare themselves lefts, communists, socialists, democrats, liberals, hippies, and Bush-haters,
We are currently in a crisis situation. With the coming of the Democratic National Convention, the different camps that make up the Democratic Party are split. Supporters of Hilary Clinton refuse to vote for Barack Obama, and supporters of Barack Obama and even Barack Obama himself are calling for compliance. Let's get something straight. Over the past 8 years, we have lived in servitude and watched our country not only lose our seat of economic and political supremacy, but slip further as 45 million people in the nation are uninsured, 12.5 percent sit below the poverty line, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Our education system is in shambles, and we are currently fighting a five year struggle to bring peace to a country we started war with.
This is a time for unity, not petty squabbles. As Americans who see truth and reality beyond smokescreens, it is our job to defend ourselves and our nation from the continuation and propagation of the current system. STOP FIGHTING. Clinton supporters, understand what you are saying. You would rather vote for John McCain, a backer of most if not all of Bush's Republican action to this country. Obama supporters and advisers, build trust. It is time to let others in and let them know that their voice matters. Yes, this was a significant year for women's rights, and historical on its own. Stop the dissention. We need to be one to bring this country back to its sense.
Anger and hostility will only split us in a time when change is so apparent, people yearn for it. Even those who are conservative know that it is coming. Why do we still split? Give this country what it deserves. Unity, liberty, and freedom.
Sincerly,
Jos Nowinski
