that I'm graduating in 12 days. It seems so surreal. I vididly remember the day that I moved into my dorm freshman year. My dad gave me a "Dad's 20 Ways to be Successful in College" (I thought it was dorky then, but I looked over it recently, and they're very true) and Kristin wrote me a "Welcome to College" letter that I still have. I have changed so much over the past four years (I could really tell when I was perusing old LJ entries), and yet part of me is the same exact person. I'm still dorky, fun Jennifer Aileen Hanson.
I've actually changed a whole lot this semester. For example, my relationships with my friends have really changed a lot. I've spent the past two and a half years hanging out with the same people, but throughout this semester our schedules have gotten really busy. We haven't gotten to hang out as much, but I still feel that I can call them about anything. When we do hang out, it's like normal (although we have a lot more updating to do) and it almost makes me appreciate them more. In the meantime, I've found other friends with schedules that are more similar to mine and I'm having a blast meeting new people and doing new things.
I've also been thinking a lot about my boy situation lately. I've had a few hookups this semester and last, but I haven't really dated anyone for quite some time now. I think I miss "that person". You know, that person to come home to at night, who will be excited when you are excited, who will listen to your problems when you need to talk. I kind of have all that in my friends (especially Laura, who has memorized my busy schedule more than I have) but it would be nice to have that in a male companion. Who's not gay. :)
In real news, this weekend was a blast. Michael came down for formal, and Nick, Laura, Michael and I got drunk at El Rincon and tore it up at the Legacy. Fun times! Saturday was Prom, which was loads of fun. I'm pretty into the group of interns that we've got there at Hillcrest.. I won't lie, we're pretty damned awesome. We got to see our students all fancied up (they looked good!), and I got caught Leanin' Wit It by one of my students -- she won't let me live that one down. :)
I still don't know what I'm doing next year, although I think I've narrowed it down to three:
1. Vanderbilt Graduate School -- accepted with $7000/year scholarship
2. Teaching and Coaching Soccer at Hillcrest while getting my Master's part-time at UA -- I haven't been offered the job yet, but it's likely; accepted into graduate school.
3. Alabama Law School -- not yet accepted, and won't likely know until the end of May.
Like I said, I think I've narrowed it down, but I've got a $12,000 scholarship to Georgia and a full-tuition scholarship to get my Master's in Math at UA. So I obviously still don't know.. so goes my life.
