Earthquake MilkShake Easybake Giant Snake
...and a couple other words ending in -ake.
I felt the quake today at my work, but it was nowhere near the magnitude experienced in Virginia. Basically it was 20 seconds of feeling woozy and then people loudly wondering "...the HELL was that?" They did a canvass of the building and determined nothing was amiss, so aside from excited chattering and people gathering in droves to watch the news in the lunchroom, work went on basically as usual.
But all in all, very cool to have been here and gone through the biggest quake since 1897, as well as the biggest quake ever recorded on the east coast. For a budding earth science geek like myself, it's really cool to get a physical glimpse of just how much power sleeps right beneath our feet.
