One would hope that the holiday season could even find its way into the hearts of Slytherins but apparently that is not so. The only thing I regret is not getting to the computer first before Lavender did. It was only when I heard her computer reading everything out to her that I had found out what happened. And I was a bit shocked to see Lavender, after her anger had subsided a little, guessing who the ring could belong to as well. Well, I shall not indulge in this kind of gossip. It would seem that engagements are no longer private affairs but public gatherings where everyone can watch which is really disappointing. However, I do admit that Neville and Hannah make a nice couple. I am a bit surprised though to see that no one has said anything about Ron. I have seen the way he and Hermione act around each other. This is just the type of thing, with or without the twins' help, that he would engage in just to get attention. Well, I must go back to work. If Gloria sees any of this, I have no doubt she'll think the ring mine and then I'd never hear the end of it.
