Have you ever suddenly heard a song somewhere random, like in a restaurant or bowling alley that just totally took you back? Music really is amazing like that... it's crazy how one tune can bring back a whole flood of memories. Just amazing.
I've been really nastalgic lately... not so much that people would notice, but I have been. I'm just realizing that I'm running into lots of "this is the last time i'll ever's" with the end of high school coming and the prospect of moving away coming up alarmingly quickly. I know things will be great at Wheaton, and I'm excited to be there, but really not to leave. MCA and LWCC have been really incredible, and I'm just now I think realizing how much of my life has been impacted by those two institutions. Carpe Diem. Sieze the Day, eh? Ami reminded me of that the other day when I said that I couldn't wait for the night of one acts to be over. Now that it is over, it's nice not to have to worry about it anymore, but it was such a great night, and I'm really glad that I didn't spend it waiting for it to be end.
So that's my message for the day so far. Sieze the Day. If you're graduating, enjoy the last few days of high school you have left, because you'll never see them again. You may even return to your high school one day, somehow, but it won't be the same thing. Each season in our life is distinct, and instead of always looking back to the past or ahead to the future, we should be capitalizing on those moments in our lives. So, go out and sieze the day.
