what on earth would inspire these people?
Due to my line of business I have the opportunity to see a lot of names pass before me, and some names have made such an impression that they've stuck with me over the years. Now I know that my name is not something extraordinary, nor did I give my children names that were absolutely fabulous, however, if your last name was Shaver, would you really name your son Richard? And if this was your first name, would you honestly go by Dick?? It was all I could do to not burst out laughing every time this poor man would call me (and if you happen to read this Dick, I'm sorry, but good lord man! Rich wouldn't be sooo bad would it???). And what were his parents thinking? "Ahh hell, this'll toughen the little puss up!" I know, could've been a family name, but if you really want to honor a relative with a name like that, buy them a fucking plaque, don't curse the kid. Or if your last name was Phukket, would you really study medicine? Who the hell wants to go to a Dr. Phukket? I'm really not making that shit up.
