Aww, crap...

Two deaths today, both of which touch me far more deeply than all the hoopla surrounding Wacko Jacko, Farrah Fawcett, Ted Kennedy, and Patrick Swayze.

Henry Gibson, the diminutive actor best known for being part of the ensemble on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In died today at age 73 (a week before his 74th birthday). He also had a memorable role in The Blues Brothers as the head Illinois Nazi, and more recently as Judge Clark ("Shocking! Shocking!") Brown on Boston Legal.

Mary Travers, of legendary folk trio Peter, Paul, and Mary, lost a long battle with leukemia at age 72. Their 1964 In Concert album was a staple of my childhood, and I always loved to watch their specials on PBS.
