Further to my last post, it seems the smoke alarm I terminated (with prejudice) had a brother downstairs.
That, too, started to beep around 6am this morning. This time I was mentally prepared, so up a ladder in my dressing gown and slippers goes I, wondering how many people are rushed to casualty early in the morning through ladder related sleepiness.
I had intended to unscrew the smoke alarm, but it seems someone had /glued to to the bloody ceiling/. A quick snip of the black wire, and it was no more. Insulating tape on the end just to make sure. You never know with these undead smoke alarms.
Later this week, tune in for the next in this current adventure: Dave goes to b&q for some propper smoke alarms. Ones with replaceable batteries and ones that screw to the roof. Perhaps even wifi enabled.
