All of this occured on Tuesday afternoon.

Ok, for those of you who don't live in central Florida, let me clue you in on my adventures from yesterday afternoon...

I went into work at my usual 8, and was scheduled to get out at 4. Pretty normal. Well around 3:00 we start seeing a lot of helicopters flying around the Universal area, plus apparently there was an email going around at work that said if anyone was having attendents scheduled at 3:30 or so, to expect them to be late. As it turns out, a cop was radaring with a few other cops on Kirkman Road right near the I-4 on ramp when a Honda with 4 people in the car, hit him, putting him in critical condition. So I get off work at 4, and get out to my car around 4:35-ish, and start to head out. Now most of you guys know that I have to take a left on Turkey Lake to get to the back entrance of my neighborhood which is almost RIGHT ACROSS THE FREAKIN STREET from Universal. About 4 cop cars were making everyone exiting the Universal employee lot turn right, and they were checking each individual car. There was a Windermere police officer with a shotgun asking everyone to pop their trunks open and checking it. In the midst of all of this, my dad calls and asks me to pick up a check from a place near the Sand Lake Publix plaza, and put it into Washington Mutual. For those of you who aren't familiar with the area I live in, those two plazas are right across the street from each other, and only about 4 minutes from my house.
Anywho, I got all of that done, and what usually would have taken me maybe 20 minutes tops, ended up taking me over an HOUR AND A HALF to do. It was ridiculous!! They ended up catching the three passengers in the car, but yesterday were still looking for the driver of the car. I saw about 13-15 cops on Dr. Phillips Boulevard alone. I know they found one of the guys at City Walk in the guest drop off area, and they eventually found the driver late last night just after midnight or so at his girlfriend's house in Pine Hills. They had cops with guns at City Walk, and when I'd checked the local 6 website that evening, they had started going into the park. What the hell?? How dumb can you really be?
The driver was 19 years old. The deputy that was hit was only 26 years old, and died after his brain began to swell in the hospital.

Ridiculous.
