Scanner reads clear. Communication lines crossing recrossing twisting. Quarters two-seven-zero locks the door. Gaeta breaths a soft chuckle over the headset. Someone engages the sinks. The lights are humming in the docking bay. The lights are humming on deck. The lights are humming in brig.
FTL drives are spooling. Jump-
(A brief moment of clarity: Kara is sitting beside him. The plugs and wires are hard and cold and stuck fast in his skin, but even though she’s not touching him-afraid of him, repulsed by him, refusing to admit what is actually there-he can feel her presence like something warm, like a blanket, wrapping up around him, and he opens his mouth in a quick gasp to say-)
Downloading. Processing new data steams. Configuring radar. Processing. Evolution trips and spins and swallows itself whole. The scream of stars. Galen get your gun. Winding down. Cooling down the main systems hard drive. Resume function. End of line.
