Hello~ (。´∀`)ノ
How have you been? Well, I hope.
It's been over a year since my last post. A lot has happened in the time I've been inactive on LJ, and I'm guessing some of you may have even forgotten me. My bad, I'm sorry. >.< if I'm already in your friends list, it was probably thanks to (but not limited to) L'Arc~en~Ciel, V6, Arashi, Eito or just JE in general.
Well, like I said, a lot has happened. The biggest in regards to fandom? A shift in my fangirling paradigm. It shifted so much, it crossed the proverbial pond from Japan to Korea.
Yup, you read that right. Hallyu has sunk its shiny, glittery, HD-perfect claws into me and is not letting go anytime soon. So, if you're wondering whether to keep me in your friends list, or if you've added me during my hiatus and I have yet to add you back, I'm listing my current fandoms and interests to make your decision easier ^^;
MAJOR FANDOMS
(these make up 90% of my daily tweets)
- L'Arc~en~Ciel and all their incarnations (P'UNK~EN~CIEL/The Zombies), solo projects (VAMPS, TETSU69/TETSUYA, HYDE, acid android, S.O.A.P., Ken, Creature Creature). They're also the band I've invested the most moolah on to date (×_×;) *currently still recovering from their World Tour 2012*
- TVXQ/Dong Bang Shin Ki/Tohoshinki in all its incarnations, past to present. Includes and not limited to: JYJ, HoMin, Kim "Hero" Jaejoong, Jung "U-Know" Yunho, Kim "Xiah" Junsu, Park "Micky" Yoochun, Shim "Max" Changmin, YunJae, SOULFIGHTERS, YooSu, SOULMATES, HoSu, 2U and all other pairings. I only got to know them after the split, but I'm very much a DB5K/OT5 Cassie. Sometimes this fandom is truly an agonizing place to be, but their undeniable talents and characters are worth it. My only regret with this group? Not bothering to find out more about them when I first heard 'Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou?' back in 2008 simply because they're Korean. 邪魔だと思った。Like, stay on your side of the pond, dammit >.< Yes, I was such a bigot back then. I apologize. To think that now I love them like burning and maybe beyond that...
- FT Island. Seunghyun, the 16-dimensional maknae is my favourite, but I lovelovelove Jaejin's and Hongki's voices. Jaejin's is sweet and soothing whereas Hongki is in a league of his own. And hello thar, sexy, beautiful, good-with-his-fingers Leader-sshi. FT Triple is cool too.
- SE7EN aka Choi Dongwook. Coz you know we're better together~ (◡‿◡✿)
- V6, 20th Century, Coming Century. Okada Junichi is still my ultimate favourite Johnny's ♥ Not watching their current tv show at all but I still listen to them and anticipate their releases.
- Arashi. Ninomiya Kazunari, that snarky, stingy brat is still my favourite stormy guy. Though I gotta admit I've been ogling Aiba A LOT gufufu~ 。◕‿◕。 Still listen to their songs and new releases but the only show I still religiously watch is VSA. AniShi every now and then. And HnA once in a while -__-"
- Kanjani8/Eito. So, Nishikido Ryo was the reason I fell for these Kansai ahos, Ohkura Tadayoshi made me stay but I've since accepted the fact that Hina is really my ichiban ^^; I'm only watching TORE nowadays. Bad Eighter, baaad~
- Lee Seunggi. This guy's voice...his sad songs always strike a chord within me. Plus, he's the snarky maknae of 1N2D XD
- The B.O.S.S./Dae Guk Nam Ah/Daikoku Danji. The most under-appreciated idol group in K-pop, IMHO. All 5 are crazy talented. Had they been in a bigger/richer/more influential agency, I have no doubt they would've been hailed as the next generation of TVXQ (and being first and foremost a Cassie as far as K-pop is concerned, I don't make this statement lightly). But instead, just months after debuting, they were shipped off to Japan. I'm not too fond of their "creamy-kei" image over there, but I still support them because I believe in their talents and potential.
- SHINee. Because they say I'm pretty LOL! No seriously, I absolutely love Onew's voice (and he's pitch-perfect, like, 98% of the time), Jjong's powerful vocals and Laruku-fanboying, Key for his awesome diva-ness, Minho for his competitiveness (he will always be one of the true aces of Dream Team to me) and Taemin's dancing and sweet vocals.
- Ikuta Toma. Best. Johnny's. Junior. Ever. Hasn't even debuted yet he's been PWNing the Japanese entertainment industry.
- Supernatural. Back during season 1, I loved Sam. But Dean's awesomeness won me over (he has the best lines, I swear!) And then there's Cas and the Impala and Crowley and Lucifer and the awesome classic rock songs :3
- A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones. I started reading this series back in 2002. And now HBO has put faces to characters I've been cheering for/cursing/crying over/shaking my fist at. True, a lot got left out/changed in the crossover from text to smallscreen, but it's a small price to pay to actually see this glorious, epic world of George R. R. Martin.
- Running Man. Song Jihyo is my favourite, whether she be in Ace mode, Blank mode or half of the Monday Couple. Okay, I have a soft spot for the entire cast. And Enthusiastic Youth Song Joongki needs to come back permanently *starts singing Joongki's theme* papapapap-papaaaaa~♫
- Glee. Santana/Naya Rivera is hands down my favourite voice among the cast.
- Nakashima Mika. Still absolutely my ultimate favourite female Japanese singer. Love her acting too. But girl's gotta eat more. Scarily skinny >.<
- Johnny Depp and Ewan McGregor. Johnny since 21 Jump Street, Ewan since Trainspotting. Um, I like hot older men with accents/quirky characteristics?
- Zuzana Light. This woman is a goddess. If you wanna live healthy, you better start doing the stuff she tells you on her YouTube channel here: Zuzka Light
- Polaroid photography. Basically, my sister got me an Instax camera for my most recent birthday =3
I seem to have a thing for Koreans being fluent at Japanese. Also, generally, when artists release singles in both Korean and Japanese, I almost always prefer the Japanese version. Unless it's 2PM or SHINee. Haha. Ha~
Other artists/acts/things I listen to/watch/flail over/am willing to spare time for
(in alphabetical order coz I'm OCD like that LOL)
- 2AM (Lee Changmin)
- 2PM (Nichkhun, Taecyeon)
- Acid Black Cherry. Because Yasu is awesome (and such a Hyde-fanboy XD)
- BIG BANG. 'Blue' and the very U2-esque 'Love Song' are my favourite songs from this group so far.
- Brian Joo
- Burn Notice. Michael is awesome.
- CNBLUE (Jung Yonghwa)
- Cougar Town. I love the ensemble and the plot and gah, it makes me wish my 40s would be just as good.
- Daniel Armand Lee aka Tablo
- Dream Team (Minho, Ricky Kim, Kim Byeongman, Sangchu, Eunhyuk, Danny Ahn)
- flumpool
- Gackt. I like Malice Mizer, but have yet to give Yellow Fried Chicken a try. We'll see...
- Gummy
- Higashiyama Noriyuki
- J-pop and K-pop in general. Apparently, my musical curiosity is forever getting the best of me. I like checking out new releases and new artists. And therein lies my downfall. Just look at how my fandoms have increased exponentially. L'sigh.
- Janne da Arc. Yasu again. Enough said.
- Jay Park
- Johnny's Entertainment
- Joss Whedon's works. Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers.
- Kim Hyunjoong aka The Faceshop Guy XD
- Lee Byunghun. My very 1st veritable oppa XD He stole my heart in IRIS and he kicked butt as Storm Shadow in GI Joe.
- Maroon 5
- MBLAQ (Leejoon)
- Melissa Auf der Maur
- Mig Ayesa
- Mr.Children
- Video games. Admittedly, my DS has not seen much action in about a year (I can't even remember where I stopped in Dragon Quest IV, The World Ends With You and Kingdom Hearts 358/2) and I think my sister finished off my Umbrella Chronicles on PS3 -__-"
- Queen. The original 4. What can I say, Freddie was such a brilliant genius, even more so because he lived in a time when technology was still limited yet his ideas were in no way limited by them. No one can replace him. Nope, not even Adam Lambert.
- Ryan Higa. I have expressed countless times that I would like to adopt this kid. Tee hee~ >3<
- Shiina Ringo and by extension, the now-defunct Tokyo Jihen.
- Shinhwa
- SNSD/Girls' Generation/Shoujo Jidai (Yoona, Sunny, Tiffany)
- Spitz
- Super Junior (Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Siwon, Donghae, Heechul). They're like the Eito to TVXQ's Arashi *hides from E.L.F.s, Cassies, Arashians, Eighters*
- The Big Bang Theory. I love Sheldon. The rest I merely tolerate =/
- TOKIO (Kokubun Taichi, Nagase Tomoya)
- Tony Ahn from H.O.T.
- Wheesung. He haunts me and keeps me company in my head whenever I'm suffering from insomnia. Feels like insomnia ahhh~
- Wicked. I was fortunate enough to finally be able to catch a live show of this fabulous musical in Singapore last year. Despite Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth being my ultimate Elphaba and Galinda, the ensemble I watched was no less than perfect. I cried bucketloads.
There's probably more, but I'm done for today. Did I scare you? LOL. If you find we no longer have anything in common, please don't feel obliged to keep me in your f-list. I myself won't be cutting anyone who still wants to keep me. Don't feel bad if you do decide to cut me. No hard feelings. In fact, I'd like to thank you for keeping me for as long as you did =)
But,
keep in mind that I love you.
*bricked* okay okay, I'll stop quoting JYJ lyrics for now :p
Oh yes, if you added me for subs alone, please un-friend me. I have no plans of releasing subs on my own anymore. What little subbing work I do from now on will be with
1995_to_forever, so feel free to join that comm for V6 subs ^^;
じゃ、これからもよろしく~!
