Goodbye and hello. :) It's the end of the year again and since it's officially the last day of 2007, it's high time to do reflections and resolutions!
I've been deliberately keeping them for today. Quite anal, but I do believe that reflections shouldn't be done until the very last day. And preferably, as late as possible.
And hahaha though I've written out my resolutions, they usually aren't revealed until the last day of the year.
Review of 2007 resolutions
1. Start revision early (kind of did, I guess, but not ideal yet!)
2. Get manymany As (nope, target not reached.)
3. Read consistently for GP (I think I read more than last year, but not enough?)
4. Don't procrastinate for PW (sigh I don't think I achieved this at all.)
5. Drink more water (improvement thanks to my bottle but during the holidays not really.)
6. Don't overeat (I need to stop clearing everything off my plate even when I'm full!)
7. Eat more vegetables (Achieved, but I must keep going!)
8. Keep fit (More motivated, yes, but keep going again.)
9. Spike and set properly (I think I improved in setting, but spiking must buck up!)
10. Improve consistency and quality of service (I have a consistency problem that hinders my judgemnet of quality!)
11. Think positive, stay motivated (With the help of my teammates, achieved.)
12. Be nice to teammates ( :DDD )
13. Don't procrastinate (sigh.)
14. Stay committed to High Five (I guess?)
15. Keep my room neat and clean (I tried, but it gets messy as quickly as it is cleared.)
16. Improve dynamics and tone for guitar (tone improved but volume dropped!)
Reflections
Volleyball
I'm really glad we achieved what we set out to achieve as a team this year, which was national champions. :) I love our team and am honoured to be part of it. Volleyball has presented me with challenges, some of which I feel I have overcome (like fear on court), and some which I am still trying to tackle (like being setter)! But I'm glad for all this anyway, and I'm grateful for encouraging teammates to motivate me.
High Five
I kind of regret not taking up a project this year (besides Recruitment), and I think I'll have to wait until 2009 until I can seriously dive into one. But I feel that being in EXCO helps me to get involved with a lot more projects than previously, which is something I am happy about. :)
Math and PW
I didn't really do a lot for these 2 subjects, and I guess you reap what you sow. Well I can't say much, PW is over and done with. But math is not, so it is high time I get focused and start planning for practising. This year my math did improve, so I really hope to achieve that again.
Faculty Committee / Cambodia
Being in the Artemis FC made me learn a lot of new things, and meet a lot of new people. I think it's really a good opportunity for me to do things I would otherwise not do, especially for all the faculty events and Cambodia OCIP. I'm also thankful for the other 11 of you :)
Guitar
I lost my guitar and failed my guitar exam this year. I guess these were quite big blows to me, but after that I learnt that I should treasure my guitar and that I love playing so no matter what results for exams are secondary. :) And I think my guitar teacher is very encouraging! :D
Personal
This year I became a lot more independent, I think. And I tried a few new things, like dance in Dramafeste. I also decided to make some changes in my life according to my personal beliefs (vegetarianism) and I quite satisfied with that. Cambodia made me realise that I should be a more caring person, so that's something for me to think about.
